The Early Years’ second show since reforming late last year, and their first in Manchester for five years. The influential London-based four-piece released their acclaimed self-titled debut album in 2006 which, as Faris Badwan told NME, inspired The Horrors’ 'Primary Colours' with its mix of Spacemen 3 drones and krautrock dynamics. Their live shows also became the stuff of legend – incendiary and experimental affairs that impressed Brian Eno, who compared drummer Phil Raines to the late, great Klaus Dinger of Neu!. Sadly, various other distractions meant that the band was put on hold – until now. Their comeback single ‘Complicity’ was well-received and the band are making plans for a second album later in the year.
