In 2009, BAM received a gift of fifty works of art from celebrated New York collectors Dorothy and Herbert Vogel, through a program facilitated by the National Gallery of Art to benefit the people of the United States. The Vogel Collection, primarily drawings, with some significant works of painting and sculpture, is best-known for minimal, post-minimal and conceptual art by American artists whose careers developed after 1960.
