The dirty letters of James Joyce to his wife, Nora, are screaming to be read aloud. And on Tuesday evening, November 14th, we're going to actualize the awkwardness. Led by author Steve Almond (My Life in Heavy Metal, Candyfreak, etc.) a panel of local writers and musicians will present these gems to you, intermittent with musical breaks by Halleujah the Hills frontman Ryan Walsh and Western Mass.-rooted pop band Hands & Knees and The Juliet Kilo. Mr. Almond will also be reading some of his own material, as well as spinning a dance party to glue this all together.
Our panel of readers is:
Steve Almond (The Evil B.B. Chow, Candyfreak)
Ryan Walsh (Hallelujah the Hills)
Gretchen Gavett (Anderson Comedy)
Robby Roadsteamer (debonaire romantic minstrel)
Chris Braiotta (Weekly Dig, Somerville Arts Council)
Aliza Shapiro (Truthserum Productions)
This event takes place at Great Scott, 1222 Commonwealth Ave., in Allston, at 9 pm, costs a modest fee of $7 and is limited to audiences over the age of 18.
