The Dead Sea Scrolls May 10, 2007

'The Dead Sea Scrolls' exhibit features six original scroll fragments and five replicas. Also on display are numerous artifacts found at the community of Qumran, near the caves where the scrolls were discovered. 'The Dead Sea Scrolls' date back to and before biblical times and include the oldest known texts that later became the Hebrew Bible, known to Christians as the Old Testament. The scrolls lay hidden in caves for 2,000 years near the Dead Sea and were not discovered until 1947.
