Scholars will discuss cultural identity, aesthetics, politics, and religion of Black Womanhood. Sessions will include perspectives by scholars from the areas of Sociology, Africana studies, as well as art historians and curators on visual arts and films.

"Black Womanhood: Images, Icons, and Ideologies of the African Body," explores themes such as ideals of beauty, sexuality, motherhood, and the identities and social roles of Black women.
