Since the mid-1960s, American artist David Novros has contributed to the history of modern abstraction. This exhibition will feature the artist's shaped monochromatic paintings from the permanent collection. Based on a close study of European frescoes, mosaics and cave paintings, Novros' "portable murals" are pieced together in sculptural and geometric compositions that establish a physical relationship with the viewer through surface and color.
