Suzanne Cahill will explore what we can find out about Tang dynasty (618-907) women and their Daoist practices and accomplishments, using a set of biographies compiled by the Daoist master and courtier Du Gunagting in 910. Suzanne Cahill is a full adjunct professor of History and Chinese Studies at the University of California, San Diego, and author most recently of Divine Traces of the Daoist Sisterhood (Three Pines Press, 2006).
