The Daniel Bennett Group has shared concert stages with guitarist Bill Frisell, Charlie Hunter Trio, saxophonist James Carter, percussionist Billy Martin (Medeski, Martin, & Wood), saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi, David Fiuczynski (Screaming Headless Torsos), Denison Witmer, and LA-based synthpop group Joy Electric.

Daniel Bennett completed his Masters degree at the New England Conservatory in 2004 and began his career as a freelance artist performing with groups like the Portland Symphony, the New Hampshire Music Festival Orchestra, Odyssey Cruise Ship Band, Aaron Topfer Group, the Duprees, and the Socially Awkward Composers group. Daniel Bennett has performed for luminaries such as Colin Powell and actress Meryl Streep.

In 2005, Daniel Bennett began to pursue his first love of writing original music. The sound was a bold mix of jazz, folk, and minimalism. The unique converging of styles gave the Daniel Bennett Group a dedicated cult following in the northeast jazz and folk scene. Daniel Bennett recruited a full-time quartet, featuring well known guitarist Brant Grieshaber, percussionist Rick Landwehr, and Jason Davis on bass.

Daniel Bennett began his career performing in Rochester, New York with artists like Sean Jefferson, Ike Sturm, Ted Poor, and Joe Santora. The Daniel Bennett Group has released two CD's ('A Nation of Bears' and 'The Legend of Bear Thompson') in a trilogy of musical fables. The group plans to release the third installment in 2010.
