The Crucible's Moldmaking Class April 25, 2006

This comprehensive moldmaking class will cover a wide variety of techniques to generate waxes for lost wax bronze and glass casting. Moldmaking for ceramic slip casting will also be introduced. Plaster, rubber, alginate and clay will be among the moldmaking materials that we explore. Students will be encouraged to experiment with the casting possibilities of found objects and organic materials. The best methods for life casting will also be covered. All materials will be provided. There may be a limit in project size due to material cost. Tuesdays 6-10 pm
