Wellesley faculty member and pianist Charles Fisk will present an all-Chopin program featuring cellist David Russell. The concert will include Chopin’s Nocturne in C minor, Op. 48/1, Ballade in Ab, Op. 47, Sonata in G minor for cello and piano, Op. 65, Fantasy in F minor/Ab Major, Op. 49, Polonaise-Fantasy in Ab, Op. 61, and Polonaise in Ab, Op. 53. Currently a fellow at Wellesley College’s Newhouse Center for the Humanities, Fisk is writing a “Chopin memoir” that will explore analyses of selected Chopin works within the context of his personal experiences of the music. A faculty member at Wellesley since 1973, Charles Fisk was the highest-ranking American in the 1980 J.S. Bach International Competition in Washington, D.C.
