To celebrate the arrival of the Tony Award winning musical, “The Color Purple”, at the Kennedy Center, the Roof Terrace Restaurant is going southern. From Tuesday, June 30th through Sunday, August 9th, the restaurant will be offering a southern inspired dinner menu and delectable Sunday brunch. Chef de Cuisine Vatche Benguian diligently researched popular southern ingredients during the 1930’s, like cloth-bound cheddar, and incorporated them into the dishes.

The southern inspired dinner menu will begin with a refreshing Homestead Salad with cloth-bound cheddar, fresh peaches, watermelon and blackberries, spiced pecans and peach vinaigrette. Entrees will include Herb Crusted Pork Loin over sweet potato puree with red grapes and golden raisins and Potato Crusted Lake Victoria Perch Fillet with a marcona almond beurre blanc with arugula and haricot verts salad. To view the full menu, please visit www.roofterracerestaurant.com. Guests can dine at the Roof Terrace Restaurant from 5 to 8 p.m. before Concert Hall and Opera House evening performances.

Additionally, the Roof Terrace Restaurant will host a Color Purple Family Reunion Brunch every Sunday with southern influenced menu items, drinks and music that the whole family can enjoy. In addition to the already varied specialties offered at Roof Terrace’s Sunday Brunch, Chef Benguian will prepare Chicken and Apple Sausages, Shrimp Jambalaya, Pancakes with pecans and chocolate chips, Red Velvet Cupcakes, and more. Adults will receive a complimentary Georgia Peach Bellini while enjoying the music of the Chris Grasso Trio.

Sunday Brunch service begins at 11:00 a.m. and is priced at $36.95 for adults and $19 for children under 12. Reservations can be made by calling 202-416-8555 or by visiting www.roofterracerestaurant.com.
