The Claudia Quintet, led by visionary drummer and composer John Hollenbeck, brings its multifaceted, postmodern blend of jazz and new music to REDCAT. Drawing on influences from classical minimalism to progressive rock, the Claudia Quintet features Hollenbeck on drums, Drew Gress on bass, Matt Moran on vibes, Ted Reichman on accordion, and Chris Speed on
clarinet and tenor sax, with special guest Gary Versace, piano. Their pulse-pounding playing features melodies, grooves and improvisations that seem nothing less than telepathic.
