The Cercie Miller Quartet February 10, 2010

Formed in 1986, the Cercie Miller Quartet (CMQ) features four outstanding Boston-based jazz musicians: Wellesley College faculty saxophonist Cercie Miller, pianist Tim Ray, bassist David Clark, and drum¬mer Bob Savine. Trumpeter Tiger Okoshi will join the quartet for the performance. The program will feature an eclectic repertoire, including original compositions such as the salsa-flavored “The Night I Met Eddie Palmieri” and a second-line tribute to the Crescent City “New O.” The CMQ with trumpet master Okoshi will also play select “standards” from the Jazz canon, including classic ballads and up-tempo instrumentals by composers such as Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, and Charlie Parker.
