The Cathedral of St. John the Divine will usher in the 2012/2013 Great Music in a Great Space concert series with a Great Choir performance on Wednesday, October 10, 7:30 PM, at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street), Manhattan.
The Cathedral Choir and Orchestra, under the direction of Kent Tritle, Director of Cathedral Music and one of America’s leading choral conductors, will perform Bach’s Mass in B Minor. Finished only the year before Bach’s death, the musical architecture of this masterwork finds its match in the grandeur of the world’s largest Gothic cathedral.
Great Music in a Great Space is a series of public concerts at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine inspired by world musical traditions and the Cathedral’s 100-year history of diverse and exhilarating musical events.
Tickets start at $25. For more information on this and future 2012/2013 season performances or to purchase tickets please visit http://www.stjohndivine.org/GMGS.html.
