The Call of Everest May 6, 2013

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first Americans to reach the summit of Mount Everest. The new National Geographic book The Call of Everest looks not just at the heroic events of 50 years ago, but at Everest’s present and future. The presentation will include climber Conrad Anker, who led Nat Geo’s commemorative expedition to Everest last spring, and naturalist Alton Beyers, writer Mark Jenkins, and athlete Emily Harrington, who also contributed to the book.
