California's spectacular wilderness has long been a source of inspiration for American artists, from majestic views of Yosemite to quiet studies of California poppies. This selection of landscapes from the Museum's permanent collection showcases a variety of paintings from the nineteenth and early-twentieth century, by artists such as Thomas Hill, William Keith, and John Gamble.
