Body blows, a flash knockdown, and determination to beat the count will only bring the power a fighter needs to take the bull by the horns and face off as Professional Boxing returns to the Auburn Avenue district in Atlanta, Georgia for The Bull-MENGOTTI main event showdown.
(Atlanta, Georgia) April 8, 2009 Transformation begins from the upright structure of a species called man to the triggered mind trained to deliver pound for pound blows with the stamina of an unstoppable fighting machine known as a professional boxer. The ring will be set and ready for action May 8, 2009, at 8 p.m. as Silverback Entertainment returns in conjunction with the Sweet Auburn Festival to present The Bull-MENGOTTI, an evening of professional boxing at its best. This wholesome family event will be held at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center located at 90 Boulevard NE, Atlanta, GA 30312.
There will be seven professional bouts delivered at the sound of the bell. The evening won’t stop there as Silverback Entertainment turns up the heat with an explosive female bout delivering jabs, hooks, and the classic “one-two” combinations to be the last opponent standing. When we asked founders Fredrico Jones and Robert Allen why this fight is slated to be the best yet, they replied: “We are striving to showcase and match fighters who will have the audience on their feet until the end. The home team fighters representing the red corner are most eager to meet their opponents in hopes to deliver that K.O. win of the night. Their motivation reminds us of the eye of the tiger but the rage of a charging bull. Therefore, we can’t wait to unveil them during the rise and fall of a Don referred to as The Bull-MENGOTTI.”
There will be a host of pre-events for the entire family to attend leading up to The Bull-MENGOTTI showdown. Beginning Monday, April 27, 2009, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Silverback Entertainment and LA Fitness Camp Creek (located at 3755 Carmia Drive, Atlanta, GA) join forces to promote fitness and health with no registration fee and no contracts to sign. Simply speak with Melvin Alexander at 678-249-4971 for more details. The community and boxing fans around Atlanta will have the opportunity to take photos and meet the red corner fighters, Silverback co-founder and former three-time middleweight champion Robert “Armed and Dangerous” Allen, and the Silverback Ring Card Girls: Octavia “Gemini” Hurt, Channel Braddy, Kelly Carlisle, and Christa Small.
