The Boston Conservatory Theater Department Presents Graduating Seniors To Perform For Agents, Managers, Casting Directors May 1, 2007

The Theater Division at The Boston Conservatory, which provides a unique focus on musical theater, is renowned for training students in all elements of theater performance. Theater training at The Boston Conservatory focuses on helping students achieve professional readiness, which means learning about the entertainment business is as important as artistic and technical training. Since 1997, graduating seniors have traveled to New York to perform for agents, casting directors, choreographers and other theater professionals in a Senior Showcase organized by the Theater Division.

This year’s Senior Showcase, directed by faculty members Fran Charnas and Bret Silverman, will take place Thursday, May 3 at 2 & 6 p.m. at the West Side Theater in New York City. The New York presentation will be preceded by a FREE Boston performance at The Boston Conservatory Theater, 31 Hemenway St., Boston on Tuesday, May 1 at 7 & 9 p.m. Some 30 seniors will perform, hoping to be as lucky as alumni who have landed an agent or an audition as a result of Senior Showcases past. These include Josh Grisetti (‘04), who secured an agent after the 2004 Senior Showcase and is currently starring in ABC's Knights of Prosperity; Dan'yelle Williamson ('06) and Laura Pugliese ('06), who landed roles in the Chicago production of Wicked; Nick Adams ('05) who was cast in Pirate Queen on Broadway, and the touring and Broadway productions of Chicago; Bridie Carroll ('05) who landed a starring role in the North Shore Music Circus production of Hairspray; and Ben Gettinger ('04) who was cast in the Broadway production of Mamma Mia, in which he still appears along with fellow alumna Veronica Kuehn ('06), who stars as Ali.

The Boston Conservatory trains exceptional young performing artists for careers that enrich and transform the human experience.
