FOUND FOOTAGE FESTIVAL COMES TO THE NEW YORK COMEDY FESTIVAL
Following a string of sold-out shows in New York this summer, the Found Footage Festival will return to Manhattan next month with another installment of live comedy and hilarious clips from found videotapes. By popular demand, curators Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher will present their special “Best of the Found Footage Festival” lineup on Thursday, November 9th at 9:30 p.m. at Carolines On Broadway as part of the third annual New York Comedy Festival. The performance will also feature a few special surprises, including a couple of never-before-seen videos.
This one-of-a-kind event compiles more than an hour’s worth of footage from videos that were found at garage sales and thrift stores and in warehouses and dumpsters throughout the country. Curators Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher host each screening in-person and provide their unique observations and commentary on these found video obscurities. From the curiously-produced industrial training video to the forsaken home movie donated to Goodwill, the Found Footage Festival resurrects these forgotten treasures and serves them up in a lively celebration of all things found.
The special “Best of the Found Footage Festival” lineup will feature the most beloved found videos from the past two years of the festival, including:
-A safety video featuring graphic reenactments of one-the-job accidents
-A medley of self-released music videos about the signs of the zodiac
-Classic moments from the Manhattan Public Access show, “Stairway to Stardom”
-The foul-mouthed outtakes of Jack Rebney, the world’s angriest R.V. salesman
