With the release of their latest album ...Are the Roaring Night, The Besnard Lakes will finally get the recognition they deserve. Although the band and its various members have been active in the Montréal music scene for some time now – even producing albums for Wolf Parade and Sunset Rubdown – it is with Are The Roaring Night that we get to see what The Besnard Lakes can really do. And what they do is make great experimental pop music that reverbs with the echoes of everyone from Roy Orbison to Freddy Mercury, the Beach Boys and Sigur Rós.
