Cow Island Music and The Beehive present the second in a series of Roots Music Showcases at the Beehive on Wednesday October 15, 2008

WHAT: As one of the most cutting-edge music venues in Boston, The Beehive continues to highlight diverse musical traditions and acts. In a continuing series highlighting “Roots Music” - Cow Island Music, a Boston-based independent record label, proudly presents a unique evening bringing together the best sounds of: Country, Rockabilly, Western Swing, Honky-Tonk and other forms of down-home American soil sounds.

Opening the evening will be the hopped-up country and rockabilly sounds of The Coachmen, (Sometimes referred to as the “Little Spurs”). The Coachmen are technically 50% of the Spurs, New England’s premier Western Swing combo!

Headlining the show will be the Sacred Shakers, the Boston-based country gospel band that recently released their debut recording on Signature Sounds Recordings, debuting on the Americana Music Chart and Euro Americana Chart in September. The Sacred Shakers include members of the Eilen Jewel Band and other notable Boston area roots musicians including Boston’s favorite one-man band Eric Royer on banjo. DJ Easy Ed will round out the bill and will be spinning records all night long starting at 8:30 pm!

Don’t miss this opportunity to see some of Boston’s finest roots music musicians at The Beehive where there is never a cover charge. Dinner reservations guarantee a great seat !
