A small Egyptian Police band arrives in Israel. They are suppose to play at an initiation ceremony but instead are left stranded at the airport. The band tries to make their way on their own, only to find themselves in a desolate, small Israeli town, somewhere in the heart of the desert. THE BAND'S VISIT is the story of a lost band in a lost town.

Egypt’s Alexandria Ceremonial Police Orchestra arrives in Israel to play at the opening of an Arab cultural center whereupon its hosts and transportation fail to show. Despite seeking directions, the group embarks on a series of misadventures and the unlikeliest of romances blossoms in an isolated desert town. This heartwarming look at cultural identity and Arab-Israeli relations was the Israeli Academy Award-winner for Best Film. (Eran Kolirin, 2007, 89 min.)
