Imagine your typical jazz piano trio. Now imagine a kickin’ rock group. Somewhere in the middle lies The Bad Plus. Among the leaders in what some are called the “Nu Jazz movement,” this group’s latest release includes covers of hits from such artists as Tears for Fears and David Bowie, along with energizing original material that’s pushing the boundaries of the genre to its outer limits.
