As a young adult at the start of the last decade, photographer Kate Brooks moved to Pakistan to photograph the impact of the U.S. foreign policy in the region. It was the start of a ten-year odyssey covering world-changing events. Brooks will discuss her recent book, In the Light of Darkness: A Photographer’s Journey After 9/11 in conversation with Juan R. I. Cole, Richard P. Mitchell Collegiate Professor of History at the University of Michigan.

The Author's Forum is a collaboration between the UM Institute for the Humanities, University Library, Great Lakes Literary Arts Center, & Ann Arbor Book Festival. Additional sponsorship for this event provided by Knight-Wallace Program, Department of History, Center for Middle East and North African Studies.
