Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum presents The Art of Music: From Beethoven to Messiaen. Alessandra Tiraterra will perform a rich and wonderfully varied program with music of Beethoven, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Messiaen as well as the complete Sonata No. 2 in B Flat Minor, Op. 35 of Chopin. Born in Italy, Ms. Tiraterra has studied piano in Italy, France and the United States. She has received many honors, awards, and scholarships, and has won prizes in several piano competitions in Italy, Austria and the United States, including a 2009 First Prize in the College/Professional Category at the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition in New York.
