This exhibition of work by the Vietnamese American artist Dinh Q. L? addresses both Vietnam?s history and its aspirations for the future. It brings together a selection of works from the past seven years, including photographs, sculptures, and installation art.
Some of L??s most important works to date have been about the Vietnam War (1957?1975), known in that country as the American War. His presentation of both sides of the War characterizes L??s artistic approach and is no doubt informed by his own circumstances as a Vietnamese American who experienced the war in Vietnam and then immigrated to the United States. L??s most recent works focus on Vietnam?s future.
Selected works from the exhibition are featured on this site, along with excerpts from an interview with the artist.
