The Art Auction to support the 2006 ABQ Slam Team July 26, 2006

Wow!

What a year its been for the slam team, slam community.

After hosting the largest poetry slam in history and watching the home team win it all, we started slamming again, and now we're almost ready to send the 2006 ABQ slam team to Austin for the 2006 National Poetry Slam. I say almost, cause we need some help to get there.

We've asked local (and some not so local) artists to donate some art for an art auction to support the teaml. So, want to do a bit of early holiday shopping? We have art donated by:

Paul Jenks, Kim Kelly, Rose Imhoff-Kerr, Becky Holtzman, Mindy Grossberg, Daniel Fuller, Meg Wills, Esme Vaandrager, Janelle Heimberger, Alexis Johnson, a signed lithograph by Keb Mo and More.

In addition we have a donation of a signed copy of a poetry book V.B. Price, a $50 acupuncture treatment, and we're gonna auction off a couple of dates (dinner for two and a date with some very special people-we're not saying who but its not me! Whoo! had you worried didn't I?).

So, you'll get some great art and you'll help us get to Austin to defend the national championship.
