Monica Troughton & Catherine Thompson will be taking The Angina Monocles to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year,
It started as a two-woman show exploring issues of the heart - 'Issues with tissues' and has since been well received at various venues across the Midlands.
The two woman show has become more of a performance about everyday life and challenges-as seen through the slightly whacky eyes of two women beyond their best... 'their prime is behind them'... as someone so cruelly noted.
Funny, sad and well-observed characters, visit moments we all know and understand only too well. Lipstick, on your teeth.... eating his chips... wondering whose baby it is you're carrying.... you know those everyday things we all have to deal with.
Catherine and Monica treat you to a couple of hours of sketches, monologues and anything else they can drum up to entertain you.
Catherine business coach photojournalist blah blah single mum of 2…
Monica journalist, grandmother, and author and on brink of divorce almost every day....
Sit back, have fun, enjoy the ride-or weep baby weep........ This performance is a unique showing and is being staged at the charming and intimate Old Joint Stock Theatre.… Don’t make the mistake of thinking this is a girls only night, a mixed audience is a must for this hilarious show, oh, and bring some tissues!
Tickets £10 from venue or Birmingham Box Office - Central Library
