The Ancestors Call July 6, 2012

The Ancestors Call is from the collection of mixed media textile artist and researcher, Karen Hampton. A Maryland resident, her work is steeped in oral history and is an expression of the narrative. Using images and text, she embeds the cloth with the hopes and visions of African American lives, telling their stories from a maternal perspective.
