This outstanding collection of American paintings returns to public view after some 18 months and includes great works created during Lincoln's presidential term, such as William Trost Richard's October (1863), Winslow Homer's Civil War picture Home, Sweet Home (c. 1863), and James McNeill Whistler's provocative portrait The White Girl (1862).
