For Immediate Release:
The Additives plan to invite Lexington's Mayor Jim Newberry to their concert happening at The Green Lantern on Wednesday June 24th. The Chicago Indie Folk Pop act has paired itself down to a duo and is embarking on a 22 state, 40 date summer tour of the United States to promote their new CD entitled Should It End.
"We are trying to get the Mayor of every city we play at this summer to come and support their local independent music scene" said the groups singer / songwriter Joe Ryan. The Additives will play a future benefit for any Mayor (regardless of party affiliations) that attends the event. "How many bands do you know can say that they invited like 40 mayors their summer tour!" We had the mayor of Downer's Grove dancing on stage once. I know that counts!
When asked if Chicago's Mayor Daley has ever supported one of the The Additives' shows (The band lives in the Mayor's boyhood neighborhood of Bridgeport on the South Side of Chicago) The singer replied "No , but I did see his brother walking to church by our apartment once!"
