The 58th Annual Sausalito Art Festival Presents the Eighth Annual Bay Model Exhibit August 19, 2010

This very special event, which takes place at Sausalito’s Bay Model Visitor Center from Thursday, August 19, through Wednesday, September 8, is a wonderful opportunity for Sausalito artists to gain exposure and recognition by showcasing their work before and during the 58th annual Sausalito Art Festival. The theme of the exhibition is “Art of Peace.” In the course of our daily lives, we are met with a jarring barrage of challenges and an up-to-the-minute onslaught of media coverage delivering news and images of natural disasters, multinational wars, and profound economic crises. How do we counteract the impact these negative messages have on our lives? Now more than ever, we need our own escape, a refuge for renewal. Through art we can find this inner peace. Pablo Picasso wrote, “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” How do you interpret peace through art?
