Will screen 16 shorter pieces totaling approximately 115 minutes. Genres include animation, documentary, narrative, and experimental forms.

The work is unrated. Subject matter is often topical. The work is sometimes
Challenging. It is sometimes outrageous. Although everyone is welcome,
Black Maria is not intended for younger children.

The Black Maria Festival has been presented at Monmouth 22
Consecutive years by the Department of Communication. Please contact
Professor Donna Dolphin (ddolphin@monmouth.edu) for more information.

This is a rare opportunity to see works made by media makers who are
Unrestrained by the studio system. Black Maria is not an amateur
Competition; these are accomplished filmmakers who are working outside
Of the mainstream.
