The Christmas Revels is the perfect holiday event for the entire family!
The 23rd Annual Christmas Revels transports you to a medieval castle in the heart of Europe with their new production of The King and the Fool. Directed by David Parr, The King and the Fool is an extraordinary new production complete with choral music, hearty sing-a-longs, lively dancing and the ever-popular childrens chorus. The story is set during the longest night of the year, whereupon the King is entertained by his court, his troubadour, and by his court jester (played by the inimitable Geoff Hoyle). The King and the Fool is particularly rich in motifs such as light vs. dark; the turning of the season; and it echoes such mythology as the Holly King vs. the Ivy King, and even the Arthurian legends.
The annual Christmas Revels is a joyful theatrical production that has become an essential part of the Bay Area holiday calendar for over two decades. It is a critically acclaimed event that has been named among the Top 10 Theater Events of the Year! December 12 21st, come join Revelers of all ages to welcome the return of the light back from the darkness of winter.
