This dynamic annual event abounds with family fun, entertainment, and a taste of Farmers Branch’s historic beginnings. Highlights include demonstrations such as pioneer blacksmithing, spinning, chuckwagon cooking and Victorian lace making. Kids will have the opportunity to make their own paper quilt square and pioneer diary. Guests may playing with pioneer toys and help with pioneer chores such as laundry, corn grinding, and gardening. Civil War reenactors will provide living history demonstrations and Texana Living History Association will present the life stories of Texas notables such as Sam Houston, Davy Crockett and Susanna Dickenson. At 1:30, the Farmers Branch Mustangs vintage base ball club will play base ball using 1860s rules. Additionally, event guests may visit the Historical Park’s historic buildings like the one-room school house, a 19th century Queen Anne Victorian Cottage and Farmers Branch’s original train depot.
