Swiss-born tenor Gilbert-Michel Rolle crosses languages, styles, and cultures in an evening concert on Saturday, May 12th, at Merkin Concert Hall. Billed as the “global tenor”, Gilbert-Michel will perform an international collection of songs ranging from Caldara, Copland, Duparc, Fauré, Lalo, Michel Legrand, and Schubert, to a selection of American Spirituals. He’ll be accompanied by a six-member orchestral ensemble including pianist Eric Trudel, Rick Walburn (clarinet), and string quartet: Diane Barere (cello), Richard Brice (viola), Alexander Tenenbaum (violin), and Mela Tenenbaum (violin).
