Teleman are a new four-piece who have emerged from the clatter and chaos of London to present their debut single Cristina, a gently propulsive song showcasing lead singer Tom Sanders’ distinctive and bittersweet vocals. Produced by the legendary Bernard Butler, the limited 7” single was released earlier this year through the Moshi Moshi Singles Club.
With early comparison to Alt-J and Django Django, Teleman are tipped as a band to watch in 2013. Formed from the ashes of Pete & The Pirates, they also make musical nods to the likes of the Beach Boys and the Velvet Underground. With the band receiving radio plays from 6Music’s Steve Lamacq, Tom Ravenscroft and Marc Riley, Teleman are proving themselves worthy of such close attention.
‘Teleman are like the Beach Boys if they were from Hackney, not Hawthorne’ – the Guardian, New band of the Day
Support comes from Manchester-based four-piece The Covelles, who have previously supported Tim Burgess and Swim Deep, and recently recorded with producer Bruce Wood (The Clash, The Cribs).
Birmingham's Victories At Sea complete the bill - the three-piece mix vintage electronics and drum machines with spiky guitars and reverb soaked melody drawing comparisons with New Order, Echo & The Bunnymen and Foals.
