East Main St
Bozeman, Montana

For National Teen Driver Safety Week, join in as the Bozeman Police Department sponsors a Teen Driving Safety Program to inform teen drivers about driving distractions and behaviors that cause injuries and cost lives.

To demonstrate the effects of drinking and driving, two obstacle courses will be set up in the Bozeman High School parking lot in order to give teens the opportunity to test their driving abilities in golf carts while being distracted and wearing DUI goggles. Each driver’s performance will be filmed and then each will be shown their video so they can see how they performed.

In addition, the Bozeman Fire Department, along with American Medical Response, will demonstrate vehicle extraction techniques with the Jaws of Life equipment. The Montana Highway Patrol will offer the Seatbelt Convincer, allowing riders to experience the amount of force generated with a low speed collision and to gain respect for the benefit a seat belt can provide. Some local businesses will offer discounted merchandise or food to those teens that can show proof of attendance to this event.

The goal of this event is simple—save lives by getting driver’s to “Put It Down” and concentrate on driving.
