Teddy Bear's Picnic August 13, 2010

Teddy Bears from all over Alton will descend on the Public Gardens for their annual get-together.

The event, on Friday 13 August, will feature a children’s show from 2-3pm with a Teddy Bear theme and children are invited to bring along their favourite Teddy or soft toy and enter it into an X Factor-type competition taking place at 3pm.

The judges, Town Mayor Cllr David Willoughby and, Stephen Wincott, the proprietor of the Little Bundles Toy Shop in Market Street, which is sponsoring the event, will not necessarily be looking for the biggest or cutest, but the one with a definite extra special quality.

The winner will receive a £15 Gift Voucher to spend on some much sought after toys in Little Bundles and there will also be consolation prizes for the runners-up.

If the weather is poor, the event will be held in Alton Assembly Rooms.
