Bring your teddy bear, doll or other favorite friend for a "beary" special checkup on Saturday December 10, starting at 9 a.m. Educators and volunteers at The Health Museum will help you practice being a "doctor," check your bear's heartbeat, teach your bear healthy habits and much more! And guess who else will be getting a checkup - Santa Claus! He will be at the museum to make sure he is fit to fly in his sleigh and deliver toys this year. Be sure to bring your camera - you will have a chance to meet Santa after his checkup! And this year, don’t miss the Houston Rockets’ mascot, Clutch! He will be making a special appearance as part of the “10,000 Hugs-to-Help” campaign.
Teddy Bear Checkup is free with your general admission ticket to the museum. The Health Museum, located at 1515 Hermann Drive in the Museum District, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays noon to 5 p.m. Adult tickets are $8 and children’s tickets are $6, but members get in free. Contact the Health Museum at (713) 521-1515 or visit www.thehealthmuseum.org/teddybear. Teddy Bear Checkup is sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas and Park Plaza Hospital.
