The Directors of the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce will host a celebration on April 1 to honor Chamber President Ted Welte, who is retiring after 20 years of distinguished service to the Chamber and the community. The galaincluding cocktail reception (5:30 pm), live comedy roast with Jimmy Tingle, dinner, and live music from the Worcester Jazz Orchestra (including vocalist)will take place at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center, 1657 Worcester Road (Route 9 West), Framingham.Chamber Chair Francis Colantonio, at his recent installation, reviewed why Ted Welte deserves special recognition and thanks. Over the years, Ted has successfully recruited and retained the membership thats our lifeblood. Hes brought new companies to MetroWest and pioneered the movement for regionalization thats gaining MetroWest recognition as an economic driver of our state economy. Hes helped our members navigate local government and built good community relations. Indeed, hes become the voice of the business community on important local and state issues. And, hes provided numerous and creative venues for member networking and education. For all of this, Ted has earned the gratitude that well all express at the April 1 celebration.
