2005 TECHNOLOGY BREAKFAST SERIES http://www.wtc-sf.org/tbs.html
March 31, 2005 ? Pervasive IP
The IP protocol, once the exclusive domain of internet routing for "data" is now rapidly becoming the dominant means of addressing any object or device or "page". IP addresses can now be assigned to everything from security tags (RFID technology) to video streams for IPTV. The excitement over IP for voice "calling" is but one arena in which the pervasive use of IP stands to radically alter the telecommunications infrastructure, services, and related applications industries. With Microsoft in IPTV, along with the "incumbents", and the CATV companies racing to offer voice services, where are the opportunities for the entrepreneur? This session will focus on the notion of the pervasiveness of IP, including identifying current hot applications, as well as the critical element of what revenue models are working and why.

Gwen Edwards -- Consultant to IP Oriented Companies
Philip Rosedale -- Founder and CEO, Linden Lab
