Saturday, September 10; doors open at 11:15 PM
Teatro ZinZanni's Cabaret Lunatique will premiere a spectacular showcase of art, music, dance and circus acts galore with "Celebrate SoMa" on Saturday, September 10 at the gorgeous Spiegeltent on Pier 29. As the seventh installment in a series of nine late-night cabarets each focusing on a distinctive San Francisco neighborhood, "Celebrate SoMa" will embrace the expansive South of Market district with a distinctive energetic spirit.
First launched in 2008, Teatro ZinZanni's cabarets all sold out and were brought back this year due to popular demand. The current series began in March with "Celebrate Chinatown" and only two additional evenings are scheduled for the remainder of the year focusing on the neighborhoods of On the Waterfront and The Hills.
"Celebrate SoMa" is a late-night variete spiced with saucy cabaret, crazed circus, scandal, music and plenty of mayhem. The evening will be hosted by Teatro ZinZanni regular favorite Christine Deaver and include performances from local talent including aerialist extraordinaire Veronica Blair, skilled contortionist Catie Brier, Eastwest duo circus artists Jennings McCown and Weng Xiao Hong and music art quintet Sascha Jacobsen. Cabaret Lunatique's "Celebrate SoMa" premieres Saturday, September 10. Doors to the lobby will open at 11:15 PM. Admission is $35 for premium and $25 general admission.
