In this fun, freeing, experimental workshop, participants will build multiple layered watercolor paintings that are used as a beginning point for small abstract works and watercolor collages or as backgrounds for representational works. Learn to use experimental watercolor and paper crafting techniques to create your own designs and gain a better understanding of the properties of watercolor pigments and basic design principles. All skill levels are welcome. Instructor Kathryn Feierabend is an award-winning painter and she enjoys teaching watercolor to students of all ages. She has been trained through college courses and private study and has practiced under master watercolor painters. She is a member of Southern Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society and Watercolor Society of North Carolina where she received the SAS Award in the 2007 Annual Show. She has also won local and regional awards and her work is represented in private and corporate collections. Since 2004, several galleries in the North Carolina foothills and high country have showcased her work. Her home & studio are in Kings Creek, NC.
