Tasting Wines from the Prestigious Rhone Valley of France! November 5, 2010

This weekend, we'll explore this extremely important wine region that every wine lover should get to know better. If you've never tried or have only rarely tasted a prestigious Lirac from the southern Rhone, or a White Cotes Du Rhone of Viognier, Rousanne and Marsanne, or have never had the great decadent pleasure of a rare Beaums-de-Venise Vin Doux Naturel, this is a night of prestige wines for you. But hold on...for even more of our mutual pleasure, we'll taste a cotes du Rhone Rouge and a magnificent 92 point Chateauneuf Du Pape, named for the Popes and their ancient Castles at Avignon (Oh goodness, my mouth is watering!). For one last rare look at the wines of southern France, we'll taste a classy and intriguing Fitou, from the Languedoc-Rousillon in its traditional and unique "Tuccitane" bottle.
