Community Unites with Guinness World Records™
Attempt for Most High Fives
CHICAGO, IL (June, 2010) – The River North scene will take center stage again at the Taste of River North, Saturday, July 17th and Sunday, July 18th. Located in and around magnificent Erie Park, this fest gives food lovers and weary art shoppers a taste of the best of everything the trendy River North neighborhood has to offer along a picturesque green riverfront setting.
There’s something for everyone at TORN, the fest that reflects the celebrated offerings of its surroundings: spectacular cuisine and world-renowned art and design. Revelers will enjoy two full days of great River North food, galleries, local merchants, live cutting-edge music; a kid’s and pet fun area – along with some of Chicago’s most impressive river and architectural views. Plus, this year TORN gives Chicago a shot at making history, when it attempts to break the Guinness World Records™ for most HIGH FIVES in an hour (more details below).
The Restaurants
Hosted by the River North Residents Association, the fest’s main emphasis is on local cuisine. Everything featured at TORN is selected based on its popularity in the ‘hood. The area’s top restaurants will be dishing out fabulous creations above and beyond standard fest fare. Participating restaurants include: Flemings, Sullivans, Ai Sushi, Green Door Tavern, English, La Madia, @ Spot Café, Erie Café, Zocalo, Steve's Deli, Mercadito, Italiasia, and Citizen.
The Music
In addition to the food and fun, another big difference between TORN and other cookie-cutter Chicago street festivals is high quality live music. Headlining Saturday night is Sixteen Candles and capping things off on Sunday is Mike & Joe. The full lineup is as follows:

Sunday 7/18
