1:00PM ? 6:00PM
$1.00 Tasting Plates
Taste what Chinatown has to offer! Join us for an outdoor tasting event on April 23 from 1PM ? 6PM. Fifty (50) of Chinatown?s favorites will offer $1.00 tasting plates featuring some of their choicest picks. Tasting stations can be found south of Canal on Mott, Bayard, Mulberry, Baxter, Pell, Doyers, and Mosco.
Walk through the heart of Chinatown and taste specialties from nearly a dozen Asian destinations. Skip from Malaysian satay, to luxurious Peking Duck, to Japanese seaweed salad, to classic Cantonese dim sum, to Vietnamese summer rolls; the selection is seemingly endless. Compare dozens of noodle dishes from homemade egg to flat rice, sautéed with your favorite ingredients. Dumpling lovers can rejoice in a hunt for the perfect dumpling with over two dozen to choose from. Be sure to leave some room for dessert since multiple bakeries are offering up luscious sweet treats.
Need a break to digest? Bring the kids to Mott Street for arts, crafts, and exploration with the Children?s Museum of the Arts (CMA) and the Museum of the Chinese in the America?s (MoCA).
Stick around and catch the afternoon lion dance that will roam the tasting corridor.
A Taste of Chinatown brochure can be picked up on April 23 at the Chinatown Information Kiosk (Canal and Baxter).
