A Jewish Commitment to Justice for the New Year
WHO: The Seattle Chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace is part of a national organization opposed to Israel's occupation of Palestinian land. As a community we engage in ritual and political activity in support of self-determination of Palestinians and Israelis. We welcome all to join us this year for our English and Hebrew Tashlich ceremony.
WHAT: Each autumn, the traditional Tashlich ceremony of the Jewish New Year allows for reflection on our actions/inactions of the past
year. These transgressions are then symbolically cast off into a body of water. We hope to create a community space that is rich with healing and spirituality, as we reaffirm our commitment to ending the Israeli occupation and being visible as Jews in social justice movements.
Non-Jewish allies are invited to join us in affirming their commitment to fighting anti-Jewish oppression as part of their work for social justice.
RAIN OR SHINE! Snacks provided. All ages welcome.
