New College creative writing professor Zaid Shlah is joined by fellow poet Paul Hoover for a reading from his first book of poetry Taqism. Shlahs poetry has appeared in literary magazines and journals in both Canada and the U.S. and in May of 2005, he was awarded the American Academy of Poets Award. His first book, Taqism, is an examination of Arab culture intertwined deeply with Albertan sensibilities. Paul Hoover will read from his collection of poetry, Edge and Fold.
