Join us for our bi-monthly discussion that meets in the Kilkenny Room on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. Discussion moderated by Frank Stricklen and Matt Caldwell.

Details on the topic: Much of our system of justice, and particularly our system of punishing criminals comes from the traditions of the church. The word penitentiary comes from the word penitent. Does our justice system really follow Christian principals? How does capital punishment square with Jesus challenging the traditional understanding of an eye for an eye? Should the church be working to change the way we treat prisoners or demanding rehabilitation instead of mere incarceration? Do Christians need to question why so many African Americans get caught up in the system? Is our criminal justice system colorblind or inherently racist? Wade into this fiery issue that inspires strong opinions and affects us all.
